From October 9, 2010 - January 2, 2011, Seattle’s Frye Art Museum presents Implied Violence: Yes and More and Yes and Yes and Why, and I have several photographs and video in the show. This exhibition will provide an in-depth look at Implied Violence’s exploration of altered states, elemental, highly charged materials, and the shifting status of their objects from installation to prop to relic, especially as they manifest themselves in IV’s most ambitious work to date, The Dorothy K, recently presented at the prestigious Donau Festival in Krems, Austria.
Suggestions of a Life Being Lived shows at SF Camerawork from September 9-October 23. This contemporary survey of queer artists begins from a place of “outness” and considers how a sense of liberated queerness is pursued and mediated within public spaces and behaviors. I have four pieces in the show from the Reclamations series.
